Run Phase 1 Demo - Reset
Phase 1: Understand these playable locations - all locations along the net are playable as long as the setter can get a hand on. First, have the sync step successfully execute. Then, the complexity in timing can also be adjusted how fast the ball comeout of setter hand.
- Deliver to a fix targeted location - it starts with the setter self toss and set to net zone 1
- The drill starts from setter self-toss, and the OH takes a 2-steps approach toward an angle 45 where the set come from to put the ball away
- Repeat 5-10 attacks then alternate hitter and repeat as setter moves to net zone 4, 5, 6.
- Setter and hitters should focus on the height and adjust according to hitter reach. Since the hitting is fix at location at net zone 1, the hitter also needs to figure out the takeoff location as part of the 2-steps approach.
- Feedback: Hitter 2 observes if ball in setter hand and hitter's last step, then provides immediate feedback each play.
Run Phase 2 Demo - Reset
Phase 2: Full approach OH with freeball playable locations - Work on 4steps approach and timing and recognize patterns that setter still can make a quick offense play.
- Hitter 2 starts a toss to the setter along the net and set (GO) to net zone 1
- Setter must always jump set and the OH takes 4-steps from normal location toward the last 2-steps facing the direction of the setter and almost parallel to the net.
- Repeat quick attack 10x and alternate hitter.
Phase 3: Phase 2 + from a passer platform - Work on communication and decision making in game-like scenario when to use GO, HUT (one tempo slower) or regular 4-tempo offense play.
- Similar setup as phase 2
- Ball feed over the net. and progress to downball and to serve
- Hitters and setter create an in-fly feedback while running this offense.
